Is Discover Scuba Diving Right for You?

Requirements are simple:

  • Minimum Age: 10 years old.

  • Swimming Ability: Basic comfort in water is recommended.

  • Health: You must be in reasonable physical health. A medical questionnaire (and possibly a doctor’s note) is required.

The Discover Scuba Diving Experience: Your Day of Discovery

1. Hotel pickup

Depending on where you are staying, we will pick you up from your hotel at around 7:45 AM and transfer you to the boat.

Acquaint yourself with the equipment and get ready for a safety briefing aboard the boat.
Meet our team and get assigned a dive master or instructor.
Get knowledge about the equipment’s safety features, how to wear it, and how it functions.
You’ll be taken to the first dive location by boat. Your first dive will be between one and five meters deep and will be accompanied by a certified instructor. Throughout the 20 to 35-minute dive, the instructor will be by your side.
Return to the boat for showers and rest. Enjoy lunch and refreshments.
Head to a different dive site for the second dive. Similar to the first dive but at a new location.
Return to the boat for drying off, showering, and relaxation. We aim to get you back to the harbor around 3:00 PM, but the exact time depends on the day’s chosen sites. The second dive will be between 3 and 6 meters deep.

The PADI Discover Scuba Diving Course

The PADI Discover Scuba Diving course is designed to provide beginners with a safe and enjoyable introduction to scuba diving. It covers the basic safety guidelines and skills needed to dive, under the close supervision of PADI professionals. The course includes two open water dives, allowing participants to get a real taste of the diving experience.

Your First Dive: What to Expect

Preparation and Equipment
Starting your underwater journey begins on land, where you’ll receive a comprehensive introduction to the diving equipment and safety guidelines. You’ll be fitted with your personal diving gear, ensuring a comfortable and secure dive. Also, you’ll get to know your professional dive instructor, who will be your guide and support throughout your diving adventure.

Before plunging into the azure depths, your instructor will provide a thorough explanation about scuba diving’s fundamental principles. You’ll learn the critical safety rules, how to communicate underwater, and what to expect during your dive. This stage of the discover scuba diving course is essential in ensuring a safe and enjoyable diving experience.

 
With your gear secured and your mind filled with new knowledge, you’ll head to the first dive site. Your initial dive will be a shallow one, reaching a depth of approximately 1 to 5 meters. Guided one-on-one by your instructor, you’ll spend between 20 to 35 minutes exploring the underwater realm. This immersive experience is designed to let you adapt to the underwater environment while marveling at the spectacular marine life.
After your first dive, it’s time for a well-deserved break and a taste of Egyptian delicacies. This period allows you to relax, share your impressions, and prepare for the second dive.
Once you’ve regained your energy, you’ll head to a different dive site for your second dive. By now, you’ll likely feel more confident and at ease underwater. Your second dive will take you a bit deeper, between 3 and 6 meters, enabling you to experience more of the Red Sea’s underwater splendors.

Your Next Step: From Try-Dive to Certification

The Discover Scuba Diving program is more than a one-time experience. For many, it’s the first step into a lifelong adventure. If you love your dive—and most people do—you can apply your completed DSD session toward the full PADI Open Water Diver certification. You’ve already started the journey!
