What is the Adventure Diver Course?
The Adventure Diver course is an advanced course of the PADI Open Water Divers, in which you develop your skills through so-called adventure dives. The Advanced Open Water Diver course is an exciting and challenging new experience for divers who already have basic knowledge. Therefore, diving beginners who have just completed and passed the PADI OWD can participate, as well as advanced divers.
Under the supervision of one of our professional diving instructors, you will be guided through the various training areas. If you’re already a certified Open Water Diver, you’ll only need to complete two obligatory dives (deep & navigation) and three optional dives to become an Adventure Diver.
Course Contents
The PADI Adventure Diver course consists of five adventure dives, which are completed over two days. Underwater navigation and deep diving are an integral part of the training. The other three dives are freely selectable. Examples of adventure dives are wreck diving, drift diving, night diving, or perfect buoyancy. Depending on where your interests lie, you can also choose to identify fish, digital underwater photography, or something completely different.
Our instructors and the whole team are happy to assist you in this regard. In each adventure dive, you will learn how to make a safe dive plan and complete the dives at depths of 22-30 meters, taking into account the physiological effects and challenges. The underwater navigation dive teaches you to “read” the underwater orientation. The goal is to be able to orient yourself safely underwater with different details. Furthermore, you will learn navigation with the compass.
Course Requirements
To enroll in the Adventure Diver course, you must be a PADI Open Water Diver (or have a qualifying certificate from another training organization) and be at least 15 years old (12 for Junior Adventure Diver). You should also have normal swimming skills and be in good physical condition.
What Does the Course Include?
The PADI Adventure Diver course at Diving Around includes a dive instructor, tank, weights, and transfers within Hurghada, Makadi, and Sahl Hashish. The course also includes lunch and soft drinks on the boat.
What Does the Course Exclude?
Diving equipment, underwater photography & photo sessions on board, coast guard fees, PIC certification, manual, and certificate are not included in the course price. Additional transportation from Makadi, El Gouna, or Sahl Hasheesh incurs an extra fee of 25€ per car.
Course Schedule
Day 1 – Your transfer will pick you up from within Hurghada, and the boat will leave at 09:00. Once you are on the boat, you will fill in a referral form. Your instructor will give you the manual and briefings for each of the dives you will complete. You will complete two dives, usually one boat dive and one navigation dive.
Day 2 – You will complete reading the manual. Your instructor will prepare you for the next three dives, which are usually deep dive, wreck dive, and drift dive.
